A motion for ouster of Riga Mayor Olegs Burovs (Honor to Serve Riga), filed by Harmony and For Riga groups at the Riga City Council, will be put to vote at the Riga City Council's meeting on February 6, Burovs' advisor Baiba Gailite told LETA.

On that same day, the Riga City Council will also vote on the Riga budget for this year.

As reported, Harmony and For Riga bloc announced in early January that, even though they do not plan to leave the coalition, they will insist on ousting Burovs because it is not possible to cooperate with him.

Lawmakers gathered the necessary signatures, but unexpectedly one of the Harmony's lawmakers, Janis Locmelis, withdrew his signature. Harmony started collected the signatures again.

Harmony party has repeatedly managed to collect the necessary 20 signatures in order to initiate a vote against Burovs, Riga City Council lawmaker Anna Vladova (Harmony) told LETA on Thursday.

She said that all 16 Harmony members signed the initiative, and the remaining signatures were collected from For Riga bloc. The initiative was submitted to the Riga City Council earlier on Friday.
