Getlini EKO landfill operator makes EUR 1.3 mln in 9 month profit

Getlini EKO, the operator of Getlini landfill near Riga, turned over EUR 18.43 mln and generated a EUR 1.308 mln profit in the first nine months of 2019, according to information released by the company writes LETA.

In January-September 2019, the landfill operator's operating revenue came to EUR 15.008 mln. Power generation brought in EUR 2.053 mln, revenue from selling vegetable was EUR 1.358 mln and revenue from selling other annual plants was EUR 6,427. Selling recycled materials brought in EUR 4,097. 


According to the company's management, in the nine-month period Getlini Eko invested EUR 3.9 mln in fixed assets and continued to use biogas to generate around 22.3 gigawatt hours of electric power, most of which was sold to Energijas Publiskais Tirgotajs.


Getlini Eko also continued its vegetable growing business at the landfill's greenhouses, ensuring an efficient use of the energy generated from the waste. 


As reported, Getlini Eko turned over EUR 18.833 mln in 2018, which is an increase of 9.2% against a year before, while the company’s profit was 2.7 times smaller than in 2017 and totaled EUR 379,371, according to information available at Firmas.lv

Getlini Eko was founded in 1997, the company's share capital is EUR 5,995,269. The company belongs to Stopini Region Council (2.08%) and Riga City Council (97.92%).
