''Rigas satiksme'' operated with EUR 677,000 in losses last year

Print versionRiga municipal public transportation company ''Rigas satiksme Ltd.'' operated with EUR 677,000 in losses last year, which was substantially less than in 2012, when the company operated with EUR 7.8 million in losses, informs LETA reffering to the company's annual financial report.

In 2013, the company transported a total of 150.1 million passengers, which was six percent more than in 2012.
Rigas satiksme achieved EUR 141.43 million in turnover last year, which was 1.6 percent more when compared to 2012.
65.2 percent of the company's turnover is made up of state or municipal
subsidies. Subsidies from the state last year reached EUR 4.98 million,
compared to EUR 6.36 million in 2012.
Meanwhile, financing from the Riga City Council reached EUR 87.23 million last year, up from EUR 82.17 million in 2012.
Meanwhile, EUR 43.1 million, or 30.4 percent, of the company's turnover was made up of revenue from Riga public transportation services.
Last year, Rigas satiksme employed a total of 4,256 persons.
