The Russian airline’s Atlant-Soyuz direct flights from Liepaja (south-western Latvia) to Copenhagen plans to be launched in April, informs LETA.

The airline's representative in the Baltic states Aleksandrs Dinuls informed  that Latvia has already issued the necessary permits for opening the route and that now only formalities with Danish institutions remained to be settled.

The airline's future plans also include opening Liepaja-Hamburg flights.

The Atlant-Soyuz Moscow-Liepaja route, which was launched in August last year, has not been profitable so far, the cabin factor stands only at 40%, however, the company does plan to adhere to its low-price policy and to continue developing routes from Liepaja.

In the future Atlant-Soyuz will consider the possibility to expand its flight network from Liepaja also to Helsinki, Stockholm, Berlin, Prague, Warsaw, Kiev and St. Petersburg.

As reported, Atlant-Soyuz started operating flights on Moscow-Liepaja route at the end of August last year, it uses "Embraer-120" aircraft with 30 passenger seats.

Moscow Duma is the sole owner of Atlant-Soyuz, the airline has been operating since 1993.
