Estonia is represented by the Netherlands in Kenya and Nigeria

Print versionFrom February 1 2009, the Dutch embassies in Abuja, Nigeria and in Nairobi, Kenya are representing Estonia in issuing Schengen visas, writes EPL Online/LETA.

Minister of foreign affairs Urmas Paet stated that Estonia"s objective in concluding representation agreements is to make it easier for people to travel to Estonia. "It will make it easier for those travellers who live in countries where Estonia does not have consular representation to apply for visas," said the minister.
Such representation involves issuing visas only – the agreements do not apply on other consular services.
Estonia has concluded representation agreements for issuing Schengen visas with Latvia, Germany, Finland, Slovenia and Hungary. Negotiations for concluding more agreements are ongoing with a number of Schengen Member States.
