41% of new cars in Estonia were registered via internet in 2008

Print versionA total of 24,590 new cars were registered in Estonia in 2008, 10,089 of them were registered via the paperless e-environment of the Motor Vehicles Registry Centre, writes EPL Online/LETA.

Official importers of cards presented a total of 21,793 pre-registration inspection reports electronically – 89% of the pre-registration volume of new cars.
e-services of the Motor Vehicles Registry Centre of Estonia have been available since June 2008. The objective of the information system is to make customer service more accessible, faster and more convenient through e-services. For customers, the project means that submission of applications to the authority is available around the clock.
