Lithuania's PM: land connection to Kaliningrad region is very good

"On the side of Lithuania much is done to have a more speedy connection to Kaliningrad and, as far as I know, connection to Kaliningrad is very speedy. Interferences arise only due to reconstruction works. () Our goal is that as much as possible cargo would move through the territory of Lithuania to Kaliningrad region and as much as possible cargo would be carried to the Port of Klaipeda," said Butkevicius in an interview with the national radio LRT on Tuesday.
According to the prime minister, on February 27-28 experts of the Russian Ministry of Transport and the Lithuanian Ministry of Transport and Communications will hold a meeting to discuss the situation of the current infrastructure and transit railway tariffs.
"It is necessary to use as rational as possible the current common infrastructure between Lithuania and Russia so business was more competitive and had long-term contracts," said Butkevicius.
