"During the Presidency Lithuania will focus on the economy issues of credible, growing and open Europe. Lithuania will aim at a stronger single and external market that is an essential part of the European development policy in order to establish trust in the EU economy", said the minister.
According to Sinkevicius, the conference initiated by the Ukrainian government will provide more opportunities for international economic cooperation and will contribute to the attraction of investment. The minister of transport also noted that he especially appreciated the opportunity to share his thoughts on Lithuania's priorities during the Presidency of the EU Council in the conference, since the majority of priorities were related to economy issues.
"The development of energy and transport infrastructure is of key importance in increasing Europe's growth and competitiveness. Lithuania's priority is to seek for a deeper cooperation between the EU countries and Eastern partners. Lithuania is ready to work in the direction of this mutual integration", said Sinkevicius.
