The Estonian national airline Estonian Air has cancelled a number of flights this year in the course of optimising its flight plan, but the company refuses to disclose the exact number of cancelled flights, writes LETA/Õhtuleht.
“We are trying to organise our activities so that passengers would learn about cancelled flights at least two weeks before the planned flight,” said Estonian Air’s public relations director Ilona Eskelinen.
She admitted, however, that the airline has not always been able to adhere to the rule of informing customers two weeks in advance.
“We are monitoring trends on each route and analyse sales projections. A realistic image of demand is clear a couple of months before the planned flight,” explained Eskelinen.
Public relations director of the Consumer Protection Board Hanna Turetski stated that the board has been contacted in connection with the cancelled flights, but such instances have not become more frequent lately.
