Under the contract signed on May 17, 2012, Avies had to provide a guarantee in amount of 164,197 euros and add the Tallinn-Kuressaare route to the Amadeus global on-line flight ticketing system, writes LETA.
The company had 30 days to fulfill the requirements.
"At the present time, the carrier has not presented the required guarantees and such action can be considered a violation of the contract," the municipal government said in its injunction.
"If a person wants to fly from, say, Amsterdam to Kuressaare, he should see be able to see all of the available flights from Amadeus. Currently, there is no way of seeing that planes fly between Tallinn and Kuressaare at all. Indeed, one can purchase a ticket from Avies's homepage," said Taavi Kurisoo, the county's transport adviser.
The county gave the air carrier two weeks to provide the guarantee and a month for updating the ticketing system. Otherwise Avies will be liable for fines.
As reported, Avies won the mainland-Kuressaare flights procurement in Estonia this spring.
