Daugavpils Airport hopes to achieve passenger turnover of 33,000 to 175,000 per year

The International Regional Airport ''Daugavpils'' hopes to achieve passenger turnover from 33,000 to 175,000 per year, according to the airport's development concept.

In 2015, the airport hopes to achieve a passenger turnover of 33,000. By 2035, the airport hopes to achieve passenger turnover of 173,000, reports LETA.

On the other hand, the airport's terminal capacity is planned at around 100 passengers per hour.

Potential destinations from Daugavpils Airport include Riga, Vilnius, Kaunas, Palanga, Tallinn, Parnu and Tartu in the Baltics; Helsinki, Oslo, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Berlin, Warsaw, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, London, Amsterdam, Frankurt in Europe; Moscow, St.Petersburg, Pskov, Kiev, Minsk, Odessa and Vitebsk in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.

Daugavpils Airport is being developed into a regional airport, which would ensure regular air traffic to destinations in Latvia and beyond, as well as cargo and postal shipments to and from the Baltics, Scandinavia, Western Europe and countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
