Vilnius Airport serves record number of passengers in August 2008

Print versionIn August 2008, the state-owned Vilnius International Airport (TVOU) witnessed 224,438 passengers, a rise of 25% year-on-year. This is the highest number of passengers served over a month over the entire 17 years of the airport"s independent existence.

The number of flights recorded this August was slightly lower compared to July: there were 3,606 flights served in August. This figure stood at 3,713 flights in July, informs ELTA.
However, the result of this August compared to the same month last year, posted growth of 20%.
Over the first eight months of this year, the airport served a total of 1.44 million passengers, an increase of 29% year-on-year, and witnessed 27,209 flights, 28% more compared to the same period last year.
It is planned that this year TVOU will serve over 2 million passengers. Last year a total of 1.7 million passengers were served.
