Estonian Air needs 400 mln euros for new aircrafts

President of Estonian Air Tero Taskila will present to minister of economic affairs and communications Juhan Parts a plan for replacing most of the fleet by the end of September, writes LETA/Eesti Päevaleht.

The ambitious plan foresees keeping only two of the recently purchased Bombardier planes out of Estonian Air’s seven aircrafts by the year 2015.

The airline will not disclose the volume of the planned investments, but it will have to buy thirteen new airplanes that may cost up to nearly 400 million euros.

“In four years we will increase our fleet from the current seven to fifteen in order to fly to thirty important destinations, instead of operating the flight network to less than two dozen cities,” said Taskila.
