Raising of sunken ships in Klaipeda port is a prolonged process

Lifting of sunken ships takes up to few months at Klaipeda Port, as the maritime news portal Jura reports.

In Klaipeda Port, small ships sink constantly. Most often it happens in winter when thaw begins after a hard frost, informs LETA/ELTA.

 

Because of the raising of some ships, legal disputes have even begun.

 

Klaipeda State Seaport Authority, which supervises navigation in the port, has already had some bitter experience of delays in raising ships which sunk in the port.

 

In the past Klaipeda State Seaport Authority has had some problems with ships left unattended or sunken.
