The decision of the Estonian state to allocate to the Tallinn Airport 65 mln kroons in 2011 so that the company could reduce airport fees to aviation companies will boost the number of passengers and bring Ryanair and most likely also Air Berlin to Estonia in the coming months, LETA/Eesti Päevaleht reports.

According to information known to Eesti Päevaleht, the negotiations between the Tallinn Airport and Ryanair that have lasted for years have reached a final stage and if all goes well, the first Ryanair planes will land in Tallinn in December. The official confirmation can be expected today.

It is not known yet what destinations the Irish low-cost carrier will from Tallinn to but the daily says the firm is interested in seven destinations, including airports in UK and Germany.

Estonia is the only state in the Baltics where Ryanair does not fly to. In Latvia it has a base is Riga and in Lithuania – Kaunas.

The talks between the airport and Ryanair have lasted for nearly ten years and several times it has been announced that a breakthrough is near.
