The magazine informs that the airline in six years has become the key carrier in the Baltic region. airBaltic, service provider of passenger and cargo air traffic, was established in 1995. The primary shareholders are the Latvian state, with 52.6% of stock, and Baltijas aviacijas sistemas Ltd., owned by airBaltic President Bertolt Flick, with 47.2% of stock.

airBaltic offers direct flights from two Baltic capital cities – Riga and Vilnius, as well as direct flights between Kaliningrad and Copenhagen.

Right now there are 28 aircraft in the airBaltic fleet – two "Boeing 757-200", ten "Boeing 737-500", six "Boeing 737-300" and ten "Fokker 50" airplanes.
