The magazine informs that the airline in six years has become the key carrier in the Baltic region. Also mentioned is that during these years airBaltic has experienced good times and bad times, which is characteristic of the aviation industry, but thanks to "smart and prudent management ", airBaltic has managed to develop and compete successfully in the air traffic market".
The article in seven pages of the magazine provides insight into the development of airBaltic since 2004, change of business strategy in 2008, importance of fleet change in further development, new terminal construction in "Riga" International Airport and the most advanced aviation training center in Central Europe – "airBaltic Training".
airBaltic, service provider of passenger and cargo air traffic, was established in 1995. The primary shareholders are the Latvian state, with 52.6% of stock, and Baltijas aviacijas sistemas Ltd., owned by airBaltic President Bertolt Flick, with 47.2% of stock.
airBaltic offers direct flights from two Baltic capital cities – Riga and Vilnius, as well as direct flights between Kaliningrad and Copenhagen.
Right now there are 28 aircraft in the airBaltic fleet – two "Boeing 757-200", ten "Boeing 737-500", six "Boeing 737-300" and ten "Fokker 50" airplanes.
