Vice President of Corporate Communications at the Latvian airline airBaltic Janis Vanags stated that the company's base in Tallinn has been more profitable than had initially been hoped, reports LETA/National Broadcasting.

Janis Vanags noted that tripling of the profits earned by the airline on the Finnish market prompted the airline to grow even faster and hence it is planning to recruit hundreds of new employees across the world, many of them also from Estonia, Lithuania and Finland.

Latvian Minister of Economy Artis Kampars has, however, already made statements to the media, noting that the major recruitment abroad would be irresponsible and inappropriate as the unemployment rate in Latvia is rather high.
