In July 2010 the number of air passengers on Tallinn-Kuressaare route set a record of the last decade, where Estonian Air served 2,062 passengers, Estonian Air informs. The former record of the decade was 1,729 passengers a month, which was set in July last year.

In July, Estonian Air carried 2,062 passengers between Tallinn and Kuressaare, which is 19.3% more, year-on-year. In the first seven months Estonian Air carried in total 7,804 passengers, which is 1.7% less, year-on-year.

"The result of the first four months was hit by number of flights cancellations caused by weather conditions, ash clouds and technical reasons, but starting from May passenger numbers have been climbing up again," said Rauno Parras, Estonian Air Vice President Commercial.

Estonian Air operates between Tallinn and Kuressaare nine times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. One-way fares to Kuressaare, if purchased via the internet, start from 252 kroons, including all fees and taxes, subject to availability.

Estonian Air serves the route on the basis of Public Service Obligation signed with Saare County Government until September 30, 2013. The route is operated by 33-seat Saab 340 aircraft.

In 2009 Estonian Air carried on Tallinn-Kuressaare route 11,330 passengers, which is 13% more than a year ago.
