The shareholders of the airlines flyLAL-Lithuanian Airlines have decided to renew the currently suspended activities of the national air carrier if the case against airBaltic and Riga Airport is won.

The shareholders have decided not to claim for themselves not only 48.5 million litas (14 million euros) that were invested into the air company in 2008 from the to-be-won 200 million litas (57.95 million euros), however, also all finances invested up till then. The shareholders decided in advance to allocate these finances for the renewal of flights from Vilnius, reports ELTA/LETA.

According to flyLAL-Lithuanian Airlines shareholders' representative Gediminas Ziemelis, from the 200 million litas retrieved from airBaltic debts to the state-owned Lithuanian companies will be returned as well as losses will be compensated to those passengers who could not fly due to suspended activities of flyLAL.

Ziemelis underlines that he has no doubts that the case will be won in favor of the Lithuanian company and claims that today Lithuania is left without a national carrier due to the activities of airBaltic and Riga Airport and has become an isolated European state.
