State Revenue Service of Latvia has included Latvian national airline airBaltic on the list of the largest tax debtors as of June 1, 2009, put up on the Revenue Service website.

According to the Revenue Service's estimates, airBaltic tax debt was LVL 1.759 million as of June 1, writes LETA.

airBaltic disagrees with the Revenue Service's calculations and insists that it has no debts. The airline emphasizes that the Revenue Service has published erroneous and defamatory information, which though is not surprising, given how chaotic the Revenue Service's work is, said airBaltic Vice-President Janis Vanags.

The Revenue Service has not informed the airline about its alleged tax debt, and airBaltic has no idea how the Revenue Service concluded that the airline has debts.

Moreover, the list of debtors at the Revenue Service website calls airBaltic a limited liability company, when it is actually a joint-stock company.
