SSC Ferries, the subsidiary of Saaremaa Laevakompanii, is planning to resume ferry traffic on the route between Saaremaa and Ventspils at the end of May 2008, as was informed by the Ventspils Tourism Information Center.

The first trip is planned on May 30 at 6 p.m. The ferry will circulate between Ventspils and Montu port in Saaremaa, Estonia.

In the time period between May 30 and June 29, the ferry will circulate from Ventspils to Mintu and from Mintu to Ventspils four times per week: on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, but from June 30 through August 31 – five times per week. The trip in this route will last four hours.

To avoid ferry's idle standing while in Ventspils port, it is also planned to operate smaller, 12-mile cruise trips that will last one-and-a-half hours.

As reported to LETA, SSC Ferries won the bid for effectuating ferry traffic on the Ventspils-Montu route.
