Both ministers agreed that this had been a quite active year in the Latvian-Russian relations. Augulis said Latvia was interested in the dialogue to continue dealing with different practical matters regarding transport.

He also praised the seventh meeting of the Latvian-Russian Intergovernmental Commission which took place in Riga in August this year and said that efforts should be made to implement the agreements reached during the meeting.

Latvian transit and logistics companies actively participate in various trade fairs and forums, the transport minister said, adding that he will participate in the Russian Transport Week in early December.

Augulis said that Latvia was willing to continue and expand cooperation with Russia in transport and transit. Latvian representatives are ready to sign the agreement on direct railway traffic so that the government could approve it by the planned signing date in early December.

Titov has come to Latvia for the regular political consultations between the Latvian and Russian foreign ministries.
