Latvian officials visit Pskov for talks on East-West Transport Corridor

Officials of the Latvian Transport Ministry are visiting the western Russian city of Pskov this week to discuss cooperation in the development of the East-West Transport Corridor and border crossing points, LETA was told at the ministry.

The Transport Ministry’s deputy state secretary Uldis Reimanis and Andris Maldups, director of the ministry’s department for transit policy, arrived in Pskov Oblast on a working visit at the beginning of this week.


The purpose of the visit is to discuss with Sergei Pernikov, Vice-Governor of Pskov Oblast, cooperation in the development of the East-West Transport Corridor and a synchronous development of the Vientuli and Ludonka border crossing points, as well as learn about the operations and development plans of Moglino, a special economic zone (SEZ) of industrial type in the western Russian region.


During the visit, the Latvian representatives together with official of Pskov Oblast visited the Vientuli and Ludonka border crossing points and inspected adjacent transport infrastructure.


Today, the Latvian representatives are visiting the Moglino SEZ.
