Achema, Litgas, LDT to continue using Klaipeda LNG terminal next year

BC, Vilnius, 08.06.2017.Print version
Lithuania's fertilizer manufacturer Achema, the country's single largest natural gas consumer, and two state-owned gas trade companies, Litgas and Lietuvos Duju Tiekimas (Lithuanian Gas Supply), will continue to use the Klaipeda liquefied natural gas terminal in the next gas year starting Oct. 1, 2017.

Klaipedos Nafta (Klaipeda Oil), the LNG terminal operator, announced the closure of the annual capacity allocation procedure in a statement to the Nasdaq Vilnius stock exchange on Thursday.

This marks the first time since the launch of the facility two years and a half ago that three users have booked the terminal's capacities in advance.

Based on the LNG amounts booked in advance, eleven cargoes are to be delivered to Klaipeda during the year.

Some 5.612 mln kilowatt-hours (KWh) have been allocated for Achema, 3.53 mln kWh for Litgas and 1.531 mln kWh for LDT, which supplies gas to household consumers.

Litgas and Achema currently purchase gas from Norway's Statoil and LDT buys gas from the US gas trade company Koch Supply & Trading.
