NT Bunkering, Estonian subsidiary of the Russian NT Marine group, has acquired a small chemical tanker named Zircone from the Italian shipping firm Finbeta for four mln U.S. dollars, according to the splash247.com website reports informed LETA/BNS.

The purchasing price was not quite 4 mln dollars, told NT Bunkering representative Vadim Frolov. In his words, the vessel will start serving customers outside Estonia.

The company registered the ship in Latvia because crew can be hired more advantageously there, Frolov said.

The troubled Finbeta sold the vessel as part of its debt restructuring plan. Its CEO Luca Bertini confirmed the sale to Splash but refused to add more details.

The 8,000 dwt tanker with a length of 125 meters and and a breadth of 17 meters was built in 1993.

NT Bunkering made last year a profit of 10.5 mln euros on revenues totaling 52.3 mln euros.
