Klaipeda was a leader amongst Baltic ports in cargo turnover in 4 months

In the first four months of the year 2016, compared to the same period last year, the Port of Klaipeda was the only Baltic port to register an increase in cargo turnover and remains the leader amongst the main Baltic ports in cargo turnover, LETA informs.

In the first four months of the year, Klaipeda Port handled 13.9 million tons of cargo, which was a 9.1% increase on the previous year.

 

Meanwhile, Riga Port handled 12.3 million tons of cargo (12.8% reduction) in the first four months of the year, Tallinn Port handled 7.09 million tons (15% reduction), while the Port of Ventspils handled 7.5 million tons (23.4% reduction).

 

The fifth largest port in the Baltics, Liepaja Port in Latvia, handled 1.9 million tons of cargo in the first four months of the year, which was a 3.1% increase on the previous year.
