BC, Riga, 08.10.2015.Print version
In the first nine months of 2015, cargo turnover at the Freeport of Riga decreased by 0.5% to 30.02 million tons, as compared with the respective period of 2014, reports LETA, according to the port's information.

Liquid cargo turnover increased by 10.9% to 8.2 million tons.

Meanwhile, bulk cargo turnover reduced by 0.8% to 17.1 million tons, while general cargo turnover reduced by 12.7% to 4.7 million tons.

Furthermore, passenger turnover fell by 32% to 421,104 passengers in the first nine months of the year. This mostly due to the fact that Tallink now operates its Riga-Stockholm ferry route every other day, not every day as before.

The number of cruise ship passengers increased by 11.7% to 66,501.
