Lithuania Post to produce 22 stamps in 2016

Print versionLithuania Post (Lietuvos pastas) has announced the list of stamps to be produced in 2016 and invites people to submit their draft stamps. The authors of the best projects may win monetary prizes from EUR 2017 to EUR 870, informs LETA/ELTA.

Lithuania Post will produce 22 stamps on various topics next year: the Red Book of Lithuania, technical and culinary heritage, the events of 13 January, Jurgis Maciunas – the founder of avant-garde art Fluxus, the 2016 Olympic Summer Games etc.
Two blocks of stamps, Lithuanian Animals – Zemaitukas Horses and the Centenary of the Restoration of the Lithuanian State, will be released as well.
The authors of the stamps whose projects best reflect the topics and whose artistic solutions are original will be awarded with monetary prizes ranging from EUR 217 to EUR 870.
Lithuania post annually releases 25-30 stamps on average.
