Cargo turnover at Latvian small ports decreased by 11.6% in Q1

Latvia's small ports handled 373,600 tons of cargo in the first three months of 2015, which is 11.6% less than in the respective period of 2014, when the ports handled 422,600 tons of cargo, the Transport Ministry informed LETA.

The largest cargo turnover was registered at Skulte Port – 212,700 tons. This is 20.5% less than in the first three months of 2014.

 

Mersrags Port's cargo turnover increased 10% to 132,000 tons.

 

Salacgriva Port's cargo turnover was 58,800 tons – a 31.3% reduction.

 

Roja Port handled 13,000 tons of cargo in the first two months of 2014, which is 195.5% more than one year ago, when the port handled 4,400 tons of cargo.

 

Pavilosta Port handled 600 tons of cargo in the first two months. Last year, the port registered no cargo turnover.
