Travelers Andzs Ubelis and Martins Sils are planning to visit twenty countries during a 25,000-kilometer motorcycle expedition "2 Rati 2 Ragi" (2 Wheels 2 Horns) that will take three months, as the expedition's public relations consultant Arita Kruze told LETA.

During the trip, Ubelis and Sils will travel from the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa to Nordkapp, the northernmost point of Europe, and then back to Riga. The two riders will be seen off in a ceremony at the "Divi Rati" Hotel in Riga on February 19 at 12 noon.

During the trip, the expedition is to visit numerous exciting and unusual locales in Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Sudan and other countries.

The route of the expedition was chosen so as to avoid globalized cities for a closer look at the specific regions, which may differ significantly from the metropolises.

The expedition has been organized in collaboration with the Foreign Affairs Ministry based on the results of a poll of Latvian schoolchildren, where children were asked to submit their ideas of what the trip should be like and what activities should take place during the exhibition.

"Clearly, it is the spirit of adventure that prompts us on to go on the trip. But at the same time we are very happy that this time it will be an exhibition remotely controlled. That is, we have dozens of tasks given to us by Latvian schoolchildren regarding what we have to do in Africa. We will inform the children about our progress, and we hope not to lose the connection to the children during the trip nor after it ends," said Ubelis.

Full information about the expedition as it unfolds will be available at the www.2w.lv and www.turismagids.delfi.lv websites.
