Tallink's passenger number decreases by 11% in September y-o-y

Estonia’s largest passenger shipping company AS Tallink Grupp told NASDAQ OMX Tallinn that in September 2014, it transported 593,064 passengers, which is nearly an 11% decrease compared to September 2013, informs LETA/ELTA.

The number of passenger vehicles decreased over 5% to 84,707 and the number of trucks and trailers increased more than 1% to 27,885 units in same comparison.

 

In the third quarter of the 2014 financial year (July-September) AS Tallink Grupp transported 2,561,257 passengers which is nearly a 6% decrease compared to the previous year. The number of passenger vehicles decreased by almost 4% to 354,302 units transported and the number of trucks and trailers increased by 1% to 76,830 units in same comparison.

 

The number of passengers on the Finland-Sweden route decreased by 15.4% in September as compared to September last year and 5.5% in the third quarter year-on-year. On the Estonia-Finland route, the September year-on-year fall was 5.4% and the third quarter fall 3.3%; on the Estonia-Sweden route the September fall was 4.8% and third quarter fall 3.6% and on the Latvia-Sweden route, the September fall was 35.8% and third quarter 23.3%.
