The Tourest tourism fair which ran from Friday through Sunday indicates that Estonians' favorite tourist destinations remain unchanged over the past few of years with Turkey, Greece and Egypt topping the list, while interest in city breaks in Europe is also on the rise, informed LETA/BNS.

"Greece offers many different holiday destinations at affordable prices, making it an attractive destination to families as well as to people traveling alone," Mariann Lugus, secretary general of the Travel and Tourism Association, said, highlighting Crete, Rhodos and Corfu as particularly popular destinations.

Many package deals to Turkey were also sold at the fair, and Cyprus, too, sparked interest in many fairgoers, Lugus said. Among winter destinations, Egypt stood out.

As to culture holidays, city breaks in Berlin, Paris, Rome, Istanbul, Tbilisi, Amsterdam and Barcelona are among the most popular ones. Options for spending an active holiday also include Bali and Montenegro.

The 29th Tourest fair attracted 26,863 visitors and close to 500 exhibitors from 32 states. First-time participants included Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
