The Lithuanian Foreign Ministry unveiled on Monday a new mobile application for travelers, named "Travel Safely". reports LETA/BNS.

The app provides users with continuously updated security recommendations and visa information for all countries, as well as real-time warnings about crises in the world and consular information for travelers and those living abroad.

It offers a travel registration system for those who want to be contacted by the Foreign Ministry in the event of a crisis.

Users can also give feedback about the work of Lithuanian diplomatic missions and the ministry.

"If some events occur or the security situation worsens, travelers will receive warnings immediately," Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius told reporters as he presented the app.

Travel Safely cost around 30,000 euros to create and is available for download for iOS and Android devices.
