BC, Tallinn, 20.01.2016.Print version
The passenger ship Silja Europa, which has been chartered to an Australian company since 2014, will return to the Tallinn-Helsinki route in March 2016, following an overhaul of the passenger area, the shipper Tallink said on January 20th, cites LETA/BNS.

Tallink's two fast ferries, Superstar and Star, and the cruise ferry Baltic Queen will go on serving the route.

Margus Hunt, marketing and sales director at Tallink, said the vessel's cabins, restaurants, stores and show bar will all undergo in-depth overhaul.

Silja Europa will start operation on the Tallinn-Helsinki route in March and will in the following months substitute for Superstar and Baltic Queen during their scheduled maintenance in dock. Tallink will publish the timetables next week.

Silja Europa, which has more cabins than any other passenger ship in the world, was built in Germany in 1993. The vessel is 202 meters long, 33 meters wide and has a maximum passenger capacity of more than 3,000.

The vessel's ice class is 1A Super and maximum speed 21.5 knots. Its car deck can accommodate 932 lane meters of vehicles.
