Lithuanians pay more land tax in 2014

According to the State Tax Inspectorate, this year both residents and enterprises paid land tax more dutifully before the deadline on 17 November, 2014. Municipal budgets received over LTL 63 million (EUR 18 million) in land tax, reports LETA/ELTA.

This year 75% of residents and 84% of companies paid land tax on time, whereas last year – 58 and 51% respectively.

 

In 2014 municipal budgets are projected to receive LTL 78 million (EUR 22.6 million) in land tax, LTL 67 million (EUR 19.4 million) from residents and LTL 11 million (EUR 3.2 million) from enterprises. Residents are yet to contribute LTL 14 million (EUR 4 million), while companies around LTL 1.5 million (EUR 0.43).

 

Last year LTL 64 million (EUR 18.5 million) had to be paid in land tax. There are a total of 960,000 land tax payers, although the actual figure is lower due to exemptions and stands at 669,000.
