African swine plague spreads to another Estonian county

Print versionThe African swine flu was on Monday for the first time diagnosed in the Võrumaa county, Varstu parish, in four wild boars, which makes it the fifth outbreak area in Estonia, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.

The Estonian Veterinary Board reported that restrictions were imposed on the five pig farming companies in the 200-square kilometre area around the place where the wild boards were found.
So far, there were four swine fever outbreak areas in Estonia: two of them in Viljandi County, one in Valga County and one in Ida-Viru County.
32 wild boars have been officially diagnosed with African swine plague in Estonia so far. No cases have been diagnosed in farm pigs.
