Estonian government approves of bill banning sale of e-cigarettes to minors

The Estonian government approved on Thursday a draft law which adds to the tobacco law a prohibition on selling to minors products that are meant for using a tobacco product, such as hookahs, pipes, cigarette papers and filters and objects that can be used as tobacco products, such as e-cigarettes and their accessories, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.

It also prohibits minors to consume, acquire, own and possess products similar to tobacco products.

 

According to the bill, the use of products, used in a similar way as tobacco products, will be forbidden in child institutions and their areas; the presence of minors in smoking rooms and areas will also be banned. Handling of snus will also be banned.

 

The bill is planned to come in force on January 1, 2015.
