Latvian construction supplies giant Cemex Ltd. has a new chairman of the board as of September 2nd – Graham Russell. He will assume the office, replacing Enrique Garcia, reports LETA/Nozare.lv.

Russell has ten years experience at Cemex Group, having manned the division in the UAE and Persian Gulf region, and assuming leading positions in sales and strategic planning at Cemex UK. He has earned two Master's and one Bachelor's degree.

Russell commented that the company's primary goal is support for local and export customers by offering added value with outstanding products and services, facilitating development of infrastructure in Latvia. He mentioned such solutions as concrete roads – a novelty that has been well received in several EU countries. It will provide the opportunity to bring about "ambitious infrastructure projects in Latvia on a low budget," the new CEO pointed out.

Cemex had kind words for the outgoing Garcia, lauding his performance since 2010 in guaranteeing successful operations at Broceni cement factory (i.e. Cemex). He will remain with the company, but head its division elsewhere – Puerto Rico.
