Creditors' claims against the defunct Liepajas metalurgs have amounted to EUR 200.163 million, the company's insolvency administrator Haralds Velmers informed the business portal Nozare.lv, reports LETA.

The total amount of the claims is EUR 200,163,468.55, including EUR 114,839,710.89 claimed by secured creditors, but EUR 85,323,757.66 – by unsecured creditors.

In total, four secured claims, 128 unsecured claims and 1,837 employee claims have been filed against the company, Velmers said, adding that the total amount of sum could be slightly corrected yet.

The creditors had to submit their claims during a time period of six months since the company was declared insolvent, or until May 13.

Since Liepajas metalurgs went bankrupt, about 160 investors have been offered to acquire the company's metallurgical business.

Confidentiality agreements have been signed with 26 prospective investors, Velmers indicated.
