Over 1,200 former Liepajas metalurgs employees still without work
The Employment Agency points out that 614 of these employees have taken various educational courses offered by the agency, which includes Latvian language course, computer courses, professional training courses, foreign language courses, as well as transportation programs.
The Employment Agency has also been organizing seminars on finding jobs and improving communication skills.
''As a state institution, we offer important support to those who have recently lost their jobs by offering educational courses and preparing these person to re-enter the job market,'' State Employment Agenct spokeswoman Iveta Kancane emphasizes.
As reported, over 1,500 Liepajas metalurgs employees have been laid-off since the company was deemed insolvent late last year.
