Lithuania asks to suspend broadcasts of RTR Planeta

Print versionThe Lithuanian Radio and Television Commission has made a decision to oblige the re-broadcasters of the television programmes spreading the programmme RTR Planeta for Lithuania's consumers to temporarily (for 3 months) suspend the re-broadcasting of the parts of the RTR Planeta program in Lithuania.

The decision will become effective after it is approved of by the Vilnius Regional Court.
The Commission stated that the TV show Vesti Nedeli of the RTR Planeta re-broadcasted on March 2 2014 spread information excusing the violence against the peaceful citizens in Ukraine, provoked the discord between the Russians and Ukrainians and the hatred for the new Ukraine's Government, the US and its allies and excused the military intervention in the sovereign country and the annexation of the part of the country.
