Seeder has earlier proposed the idea of implementing an extra tax on products that contain excess amounts of sugar or salt but now he admits that quite a few states that have tried it, like Finland and Denmark, have given up the tax later.

"Different states have behaved very unstably concerning the additional taxation, which indicates that such taxation hasn’t very clearly justified itself or not a very good solution has been found," said Seeder.

Seeder said that instead of that, the society should focus on promoting healthy eating habits and more athletic lifestyles.
