Elisa Eesti: EU directive cut the turnover

BC, Tallinn, 19.04.2013.Print version
Mobile phone operator Elisa Eesti announced that its first quarter 2013 profit fell as compared to the same time last year due to a European Union directive, Äripäev.ee/LETA reports.

Elisa's turnover in the first quarter of 2013 was 21.3 million euros versus 24.8 million a year ago, a fall of 14.1%. Elisa's turnover in Estonia was last year 111.8 million euros.

Elisa's board chairman Sami Seppänen said that the fall was caused by the fall of connection fees between operators or the fees of ending a phone call, which were reduced due to EU directive from January 1 this year.

The customer base of Elisa grew in the first quarter by 57,000 clients to 635,023 clients.
