In February 2013, 960 temporary restrictions on possession, use or disposal of property were issued to companies in Lithuania, reports LETA/ELTA.

Compared with the previous month, there were 20 cases less of property arrests but the worth of seized property increased by LTL 67 million (EUR 19.4 million) – a total of LTL 186 million (EUR 53.8 million), says credit agency Creditinfo which conducted analysis based on Central Mortgage Office data.

"The number of property arrests rapidly decreased in wholesale trade sector, while in the construction and real estate companies the number of arrests declined for the second month in a row. Nevertheless, it should be noted that the real estate and construction sectors were the most sensitive to the economic downturn, therefore current statistics is not a sign of significant improvement but a sign of stabilization," says credit agency Creditinfo Representative Alina Buemann.

Last month the majority of corporate assets arrests was registered in counties of Vilnius (43%), Kaunas (18%) and Klaipeda (14%), whereas the lowest rate was observed in Taurage (1%), Utena (2%) and Alytus (2%) counties.
