The Confederation of Lithuanian Industrialists has established a business council of economic and trade cooperation with Belarus.

The council invites all Lithuanian companies, organisations and private persons, interested in developing bilateral relations with Belarus, to join. Chairman of the board of the Vakaru Medienos Grupe Sigitas Paulauskas was elected the chairman of the council's board, informs LETA/ELTA.

Belarus is one of the key export partners of Lithuania. In the first 3 quarters of this year, Lithuania's exports to Belarus accounted for LTL 2.5 billion (EUR 0.72 billion) or 4.5% of total Lithuanian exports. Belarus ranks 8th in the list of Lithuania's key trading partners.

"Belarus, being a neighbour of Lithuania, is a key economic partner of it. Therefore, the Confederation of Industrialists believes that it is important to contribute to the promotion of bilateral economic cooperation and help to resolve various issues companies encounter with," said Chairman Paulauskas.
