After an analysis of all evidence and data jointly obtained by the Food and Veterinary Service and the Center for Disease Prevention and Control, epidemiologists at the center have concluded that contaminated food products sold by catering company TurKebab were the cause of food poisoning cases during the "Positivus" music and art festival in Salacgriva last weekend, as the Center for Disease Prevention and Control spokeswoman Laura Sevcenko informed LETA.

Altogether, 18 people were diagnosed with an intestinal infection at the "Positivus" festival. An epidemiological investigation has established that 17 of them had consumed products sold by TurKebab, and no other risk factor common for all these cases has been established.

All the food poisoning victims complained of nausea, headache and weakness in four to five hours after consuming chicken and beef kebabs sold by TurKebab.

Furthermore, there were no new food poisoning cases after the violations in the TurKebab tent at the "Positivus" festival were eliminated, added Sevcenko.
