Estonian state to compensate wrongful accusations to businessman Vladimir Getsu

Print versionA businessman Vladimir Getsu was suspected of large-scale tax evasion by the Estonian authorities; however, it was proved during the court case that Getsu was innocent in this matter, and the Estonian state now owes him a compensation, the Estonian news portal BBN said in a statement.

The government has allocated 2,848 euros from its reserve fund for compensation to be paid to the entrepreneur, reports LETA.
After his tax payments case hearing, Getsu filed a compensation claim against the state saying that he had suffered damages because during the investigation he had been prohibited to leave the country and his bank accounts had been frozen.
The case lasted more than eight years.
