Print versionPresident of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite signed the amendments to the law on joint-stock companies and she hopes that it will prevent from avoiding paying taxes by misusing annual fees (bonuses) and will ensure fair distribution of profit among large and small shareholders of the company.

"The flaws of the law, making tax avoidance and large shareholders misusing of profit distribution possible, must be corrected. The amendments to the law will ensure equal rights for all company's shareholders to take its profit," Grybauskaite said, reports LETA/ELTA.
The amendments, which the president initiated herself, restrict the order of paying bonuses. It will ensure that after making a decision about the distribution of profit, possible tax avoidance will be prevented and both a large scale as well as a small scale shareholder who invested into the company will get an adequate share of profit.
