Since the beginning of this year patients have been able to carry out gene analyses with the gene chip developed by the Estonian Biocentre, Asper Biotech and Tartu University Hospital. The chip covers 65 BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene mutations with greater risks and isolated low-risk mutations in other genes. Now the chip also includes the ability to detect the mutations most often occurring in the Finnish population in order to make it possible to implement the chip in cancer prevention in Finland as well.
“We are currently actively looking for a partner in Filnand,” said Indrek Kask, representative of Asper Biotech. He added that simultaneously Asper is also maintaining negotiations in Latvia and in Lithuania as well.
