The minister said that the latest study of the ministry on the subject shows that 10% of entrepreneurs have been asked a bribe in some form in recent years. 3% of the respondents admitted that they have given the bribe. “This 10% is very big number,” said Lang.

According to Äripäev.ee, Lang said in his speech also that the corruption in Estonian press is unbearably high. 7% of the entrepreneurs said that they have heard of cases when a journalist has been paid for a journalistic article, with the aim of harming the reputation of one side or improving the reputation of another. “This is a completely unbearable number. It is not unethical but criminal behaviour,” said Lang.
